The Cisco Aironet AIR-CAP3602P-x-K9 is part of the Cisco Aironet 3600 Series lightweight CAPWAP access points. This AP must be managed by a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and does not support autonomous standalone operation.
Compliant with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards, it provides simultaneous dual-band coverage on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. Built on a 4×4 MIMO architecture with three spatial streams, it delivers a maximum aggregate throughput of up to 450 Mbps.
Distinct from the 3602E and 3602I models, the AIR-CAP3602P-x-K9 is equipped withsix RTNC external antenna connectors. This enables physical separation of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz antennas. Integrators can deploy custom omnidirectional or directional antennas to fine-tune RF coverage for complex indoor layouts.
The platform features a modular design that accepts optional upgrade modules for advanced spectrum analysis and wireless security functionality. Cisco CleanAir Spectrum Intelligence identifies, classifies and suppresses non-Wi-Fi RF interference to enhance network stability. ClientLink 2.0 improves throughput and reliability for legacy Wi-Fi clients.
Hardware includes one 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet port and one RJ45 console management port. The access point operates using IEEE 802.3af PoE.
It supports enterprise-grade security including WPA/WPA2, AES, TKIP, 802.1X authentication and a full suite of EAP methods. Ceiling rail and wall mounting are supported, making it suitable for offices, schools and medium-density indoor wireless deployments.
The suffix "x" indicates different regulatory domains to meet local radio spectrum compliance requirements.
